“Attempts. Failures.” Nominated for Pushcart Prize

Good morning,

It is such an honor to announce that GFT Press has nominated my short story, Attempts. Failures., for a Pushcart Prize. I want to thank Editor-in-Chief, Jack Daniel Miles, for publishing the story back in March. I also want to thank Janine Pickett, Guest Editor, for including the story in GFT Press’ first anthology, GFT Presents: One in Four.

If you haven’t checked out GFT Press, you should do so now. They donate all profits to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. They publish new lit & art online on the first Thursday of each month.

[You should also check out Janine Pickett’s literary journal: the Indiana Voice Journal, who were kind enough to publish The Yard Sale, a piece of flash fiction of mine earlier this month.]

It’s a privilege to be nominated for this mighty award. I mean, the likes of literary giants such as Raymond Carver (Cathedral, for Christ’s sake), Joyce Carol Oates, Wendell Berry (fellow Kentuckian!), Anthony Doerr (y’all need to read All the Light We Cannot See)–just to name a few–have been nominated (& won) the thing.

Fingers crossed.
