2018

Good evening,

I hope you got to spend the first day of the new year with your loved ones. I hope you got to wrap your arms around them and tell them you love them. I hope you have hope for our next cycle around the sun.

I do.

2017 was a rough year for a lot of people, myself included. It had its ups and downs, many downs, but—hopefully—the sun will rise again tomorrow. We’ll wake up with a new chance at achieving old dreams. We’ll run into new obstacles, conjure up new dreams, defy the odds, harbor new hopes.

2018 is already shaping up to be an interesting year for me. On the slate are three A.S. Coomer novels forthcoming in paperback and digital formats.

I’m excited to announce two brand new novels: The Devil’s Gospel, which will be published by The Wild Rose Press, and Shining the Light, which will be published by Atlatl Press. These are two very different novels. The Devil’s Gospel is a thriller centered around religious fanaticism and parental expectations set in the Red River Gorge area of eastern Kentucky. Shining the Light is the biography of a musician—Homer Antumbra—and told through interview, multi-album conceptual story arcs, journal entries, etc.

Rush’s Deal, my first novel, will be given paperback treatment by Lit Fest PressCole Dunn, an amazing tattoo artist/painter/poet/friend, is working on a set of paintings for the front and back covers.

A studio album, produced and engineered by Michael Pierce of Sixtyten, will be finished and released in 2018 as well. I got a whole slew of talented people to join me in the studio and I’ve never been prouder of one of my musical creations. I plan on calling the thing: goddamn it anyway. It’ll be self-released in physical and digital formats in the very near future.

Well, that’s wall for now. Keep hope in your hearts. It’s all there is sometimes.
